Since 2010, we have been supporting real estate projects, portfolios, and companies on their journey toward greater sustainability. What began with building certifications has evolved into comprehensive consulting covering ESG, climate protection, and future-proof real estate. We have intentionally remained a boutique firm: personal, specialized, and close to our clients. We think strategically while never losing sight of practical, cost-effective implementation.
2010
The beginning
ibak Hamburg was founded with a clear conviction: sustainability will transform the real estate industry. From the very beginning, we have supported our clients in meaningfully integrating ecological, social, and economic requirements into their projects—not as an end in itself, but to create long-term value.
2013
ibak goes international
Expansion of our client base to include international corporations and investors. We have broadened our services to include certifications and calculations based on US and Anglo-American standards and guidelines. The team has grown to 10 employees. (Services include LEED, BREEAM, WELL, etc.; working languages include English).
2018
Portfolio and team growth
We are moving into the "Villa" with a team of 15. Our clients benefit from a growing portfolio that now includes expertise in measurement technology and building simulations, thereby reducing their need for external interfaces. Strategically, we remain a boutique partner.
2023
A new location for the next phase of growth
After many successful years in Blankenese, we are moving into new offices in the heart of Hamburg's city center. This move symbolizes our evolution: closer to our clients, better connected, and right in the middle of an industry that is changing faster than ever before.

Ready for the future
We are actively evolving ibak Hamburg through a comprehensive transformation process. We are investing in digital (AI) solutions, refining our organizational structures, expanding our team with new expertise, and strengthening partnerships to optimize our efficiency and provide holistic consulting services.
