The WELL™ Building Standard (WELL™) was brought to market readiness by the International WELL™ Building Institute (IWBI). The aim of the system is to optimise health in living and working spaces to a degree that comfortably surpasses the specifications of European standards and guidelines. The system can be applied to new buildings, interior fittings and the finished shell (known as the WELL™ Core). Assessment is based on the following ‘concepts’:

- Nourishment
- Exercise and fitness
- Thermal comfort
- Low-emission, resource-efficient construction materials
- Personal satisfaction and balance
- Community
- Innovation approaches
Planning is supported by a WELL™ Accredited Professional (WELL™ AP). Initial assumptions are confirmed by an independent WELL™ Performance Testing Agent (WELL™ PTA), who carries out comprehensive laboratory analyses of air and water quality while also gauging room acoustics, architectural acoustics and light quality (especially in view of the new area of circadian lighting). As a holder of the appropriate licences, ibak is in a position to offer both services.

As WELL™ Performance Testing Agents, we are fully committed to the quality standards of the International WELL™ Building Institute (IWBI). We have been licensed as a WELL™ Performance Testing Organization for four years.
Our measuring technology and analyses produce highly accurate data. This enables us to provide dependable results concerning the availability of daylight, circadian lighting, thermal comfort, (drinking) water turbidity and content, indoor air quality and the quality of execution of room acoustics and architectural acoustics – according to US standards and in line with all German procedures.
