The DGNB’s BIU (Buildings In Use) system incorporates a transformation and management tool, plus several (generally Excel-based) tools that make it easy for you and your team to develop a sustainable real estate strategy aimed at climate protection that is fit for the future.
The system is based on the plan-do-check-act method. At first glance, real estate will probably have a fairly low profile – unless sustainability concepts have been developed and initial targets achieved in previous years, in which case, keep it up.
If, however, your building has already attained climate-neutral status, your commitment will be rewarded with the DGNB Climate Positive award in addition to the BIU Certificate.
